Gosford Park is a period melodrama set in 1932 that takes place in an old-fashioned English country house where a family has invited many of their friends up for a weekend shooting party. The story begins with perfect order, in which everyone up and down the class ladder fit securely into place until murder disrupts that order. While the police set about unmasking the culprit, the guests try to conceal their darkest secrets. The film won an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award and was nominated for another six Oscar Awards.
