Dear Stan, Your article Shakira shakes and rocks the Gulf does not tell the readers about what actually happened on the day of the concert.
I was one of the Shakira fans who flew to Dubai especially for the concert. On the day of the concert buses were operating from major malls in the city to take the people to the venue. First they had minibuses instead of proper buses and given the number of people who were waiting to get to the venue, it was an outrage! The so called ‘buses’ were supposed to come back to get the rest of the people but could not manage to do so because they were stuck in traffic for several hours. Hence a lot of people with tickets could not even get to the Autodrome. I was in the bus from 5pm to 9.45pm myself (the concert started at 9.30pm). It was frustrating! Although Shakira did rock the stadium with her single Hips Don’t Lie she did not manage to get the crowds going with the rest of her numbers. So was GW actually there to get its facts on paper?
