Hi Friends,
One of the questions in last week’s quiz was that which game Alan Shepard played on the Moon.

To my surprise, most kids guessed it right. On 6 February 1971, Alan played golf on the Moon.
Alan was a naval officer, who later retired as a Rear Admiral from US Navy. Playing golf was his passion. He sneaked two golf balls in his baggage to the Moon. His first hit with a make-shift iron club was not successful as he could use only one hand. His other hand was restricted by the space suit. He claimed that his second hit went for miles and miles and miles. However, he could not claim a World record for the longest golf drive (It might be a Moon record).
Later he confessed that the ball had actually covered a distance of only 200 yards (which is not even close to a world record). He admitted that his earlier claim was a gross exaggeration.
The kids are surely not the biggest braggers.

Bye,
Syeda Maria
