Gulf Weekly Dear GulfWeekly readers,

THE 2007 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is finally upon us. The weeks of build-up have been an incredible time for everyone who contributes to this, the biggest sporting and social occasion in the GCC.

Back in February our Grand Prix period got underway with two weeks of official Formula One testing before the start of the season, which was the ideal time to launch this year's Ithmaar Group Yalla Bahrain! calendar of cultural and community events, which have become such an important and popular part of the Formula One experience in Bahrain.
In the meantime, the team has been flat-out to deliver the very best Formula One Grand Prix that could be wished for by the teams, the organisers and most importantly the public. We have no fewer than four races, with Formula One supported by the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, GP2 Series and our own regional touring car series the Lumina CSV Championship Middle East.
Off the track we have the best entertainment ever seen at the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix: autograph sessions with the Formula One drivers, support race drivers and air display pilots; a children’s area with Gulf Air Sky Nannies on hand to help out; the live stage performances; an amazing new cultural and heritage experience area; the new interactive BIC Welcome Centre; performers circulating among the fans and all the excitement of the event.
I look forward to seeing you at the BIC.

Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa,
Director of PR and Governmental Affairs, Bahrain International Circuit
