I know that I, like most women, go into a transfixed mode, basically in our own little world, when it comes to entering a shoe shop.
I think a bag shop has the same effect on some women … but for me it would most defiantly be a shoe shop.
Here in Bahrain, with the weather always shining, we are lucky to get away with wearing lots of different styles of shoes that let our little toes show. Perfectly manicured toes, may I add.
At the moment there is a diverse range of styles to choose from depending on the event - from casual sandals, party sandals and evening shoes to amazing wedges and flat ballet pumps.
When choosing evening shoes, it’s all about the peek-hole front, from corkscrew wedges to platform sling-backs, every design has a peek-hole front.
You cannot go far wrong if your chosen shoe has a bow or big button on it or ties around the ankle into a big bow. Also, other designs I have spotted cross around the ankle fastening with a buckle.
Metallic colours in silver and gold are still heavily in fashion right now in any form of shoe design. Don’t forget to match it with metallic bags too and if price is no option please check out the bags at a new store in Al Aali Mall as the Golden Erin design is in my opinion the “It” bag of Bahrain.
If you’re a flat casual shoe kind of lady then you will be spoilt for choice right now as there are many designs of summer sandal around, particularly the Grecian design with lots of straps.
Top of my list is French Connections’ golden-leaf designed flat thong sandal. Another favourite, but very expensive option, is Chanel’s gold sandal which goes perfectly with skinny jeans or shorts.
Miss Sixty also has some fun, bright-coloured leather sandals out right now too.
In the coming summer months you will see a lot more of the neon, brightly-coloured items coming into fashion from bags to dresses and tops. I did see a picture of Kylie Minogue recently in Pink neon tights, although I’m not so sure about them!
But, there is absolutely no reason for not having pretty feet this year.
