Ten of the world’s leading photographers have taken part in a pioneering enviromental exhibition which arrives here in Bahrain next week. Today we give you an exclusive glimpse at some of the work that will be on show.

A pioneering environmental exhibition will be unveiled in Bahrain in May as part of its tour of the Middle East.
Ten of the world’s leading photographers have participated in the project which is entitled ‘NorthSouthEastWest: a 360 degree View of Climate Change’.
It was conceived and is being organised by the British Council and The Climate Group, a UK-based charity that aims to galvanise leadership of emissions reduction with the support of environmental groups across the Gulf.
Rob Lynes, regional director for the British Council in the Middle East, said the exhibition helps to “highlight the issues of climate change and energy challenges facing cities around the world”. He added: “These are questions of increasing importance for all communities, in an increasingly globalised world, solutions to which must be found”
The images are being used to raise awareness and stimulate debate across the region about the causes of, and problems associated with, climate change and the energy challenges facing the world’s greatest cities, as well as to promote solutions to the general public. This has produced some inspiring images, which detail the resourceful ways in which many communities have adapted.
When it finishes touring, NorthSouthEastWest will have traveled to around 70 countries – with some already having reported visitor numbers in excess of 10,000.
GulfWeekly today provides an exclusive look at a small selection of the images which will go on display at Beit al’ Quran, Manama, on May 9, for three weeks.
