Gulf Weekly Batelco hosts Group IT forum

Batelco hosted a one-day Group IT forum at the company’s headquarters in Hamala.

The forum was held as part of the Batelco Group’s efforts to maximise the benefits of their IT systems and applications in order to generate maximum synergy between the Group’s entities and avail of opportunities presented by the growth of the ICT sector in their targeted markets.
Senior IT managers from Batelco Bahrain and the company’s joint ventures – QualityNet (Kuwait), Umniah (Jordan), Batelco Jordan, Sabafon (Yemen) and anis (Batelco’s ICT subsidiary), presented their current and future IT operations and development plans.
The participating groups also shared their individual in-house development solutions and their partnership arrangements with international and regional ICT companies.
“By discussing our individual plans and sharing our knowledge, every member of the Batelco Group can benefit,” said Batelco information systems general manager Saleh Tarradah.
“The event identified a number of action points for co-operation and co-ordination in the areas of: application development, business relationship management, IT governance, licensing, training and development, shared group IT knowledge base and opportunities for purchase of certain systems and solutions,” he said.
“We were delighted with the positive response from all parties concerned. The forum was very beneficial and this has encouraged us to plan a second one to take place within the next three months.”
