Speed thrills but kills

THE other night when my dad was driving back home from his work, he noticed that on the highway there was a lot of commotion and a huge crowd by the side of the road.

He, like all of the people, became very curious and wanted to find out what all the fuss was about.
Mind you that it was three in the morning when all this happened. Apparently, the crowd, along with the local authorities and paramedics, were surrounding the wreckage of car that had been involved in an accident.
There was only one car involved and there was only one driver present in the car.
The paramedics tried to save him but due to the extent of the injuries suffered, the driver passed away on site.
Apparently the driver was speeding, lost control of the car and smashed into a tree.
Sadly, this scenario repeats itself too often in the kingdom. Many of the speeding drivers injured and killed on the roads are young. The driver that passed away the other night on the highway was indeed, a teenager.
Too many accidents, whether due to speeding or not, are caused by youngsters.
Many young people believe no harm can be done by wreckless driving.
They go by the saying: “It is OK to live a little”.
Yet many youngsters tend to forget that nothing comes without a price.
That driver recently killed may have thought that no harm could be done since few people would be driving on that highway at three in the morning. Therefore, he may have thought that he could “live a little”. Yet he had to pay a price and that price was his life.
