Despite the over-sized shades she’s a survivor

When Nicole Ritchie’s on-again-off-again best friend Paris Hilton was sentenced to jail time, I almost jumped for joy and yet for some inexplicable reason I‘m having the complete opposite reaction to Nicole’s four-day sentence.

Quite aside from the fact that fours days is a ridiculous amount of time to serve for any crime and was quite obviously just a token gesture from the judge, there’s something indescribable about Nicole that makes it very sad that she should have to spend any time behind bars.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of hers and think that she and Paris are both spoilt little rich girls that think they can get away with anything, but unlike her small screen partner, Nicole does seem to have grown (emotionally at least) as a person in the last couple of years and sometimes actually seems to make a small degree of sense when she opens her mouth to talk.
I could be wrong, but unlike most of these Hollywood starlets, La Ritchie doesn’t seem to court attention as much as most, it just seems to follow her around like a bad smell. Her disgustingly skinny figure has led to many hundreds of column inches speculating about any number of eating disorders and her Simple Life antics has pretty much guaranteed her the image of bitchy bimbo, but to look at her, I can’t help getting the feeling that there’s a lot more than expected going on behind those absurdly ridiculous over-sized sunglasses and I have little doubt she will turn out to be a true tinseltown survivor.
Skeletal and frail-looking, she has an air of underlying strength about her that makes me think she will make it through just about anything – including four poxy days behind bars.
