Plot: In ancient Rome a group of soldiers must rescue the emperor – a 12-year-old boy who has been held prisoner by a group of barbarians on the island of Capri. The last legion is set in 476 AD a time of huge turmoil in Europe. The Roman Empire, now divided the East, is now ruled by the Byzantines from the great capital of Constantinople.
