Hi friends,
In recent years there appears to have been a significant increase in the frequency of natural disasters.

I do not have exact statistics, but the number of casualties caused by these catastrophes seems to have been unprecedented in the history of mankind.
In the last five years we have suffered huge damages due to tsunamis, earthquakes, cyclones, landslides and hurricanes. The vulnerability of developing countries may be much higher but nature has not spared the developed world.
Many scientists claim that global warming is to blame. Yet the number of industries and automobiles emitting greenhouse gases are increasing at an alarming speed.
It is high time that we start treating these incidents as a global warning?
All of us can contribute by taking small steps. At our level, we can reduce the use of automobiles, plant more trees and support those who are working for the environment. We should realise that we have to save ourselves and our future generations.
Bye,
Maria
