Gulf Weekly Coveted prize winner

Dar Akhbar Al Khaleej Press and Publishing won a coveted international award for high quality printing at the 2006 annual awards given by the global fine paper producer Sappi.

Last year 838 printers from 35 countries spanning Middle East and Europe competed in the prestigious competition. There were nine categories and 36 printers received gold, silver and bronze awards. 
The Bahraini press won the bronze award in the annual reports category with Germany taking gold and Italy silver. Bahrain was the only country outside of Europe to achieve such an honour in the coveted ‘Oscars’ of the print industry.
P. Madhava Rao, operations manager at Dar Akhbar Al Khaleej, accompanied chairman Anwar Abdulrahman to Athens to accept the accolade for producing the outstanding Gulf Finance House Commercial Bank annual report 2005.
