Dear Stan,
I was recently sent this photo of Khamis Mosque, above, which was taken by my mother Mrs Dorothy Johnson in August 1968.

My mother was visiting her parents Mrs Evelyn Storey and Major Charles Storey who was serving with the Parachute Regiment, based at Awali.
I have been back to the same spot, the trees are still there but the area is now surrounded by buildings.

Dear Stan,
I live in Aurangabad (Maharashtra) and I have come to Bahrain to visit my son Dinesh who is working as marketing manager, Gajria Electronics, his wife Shivani and their daughter Tvisha and son Aryan.
I had the chance to read Shilpa’s shopping list twice during my stay.
It is an excellent exercise and gives an opportunity for the public to know the prices they are paying for the same brand or product in different stores.
Yes, there appears to be some extra amount we may be paying for services and the quality we expect from these stores.
We had around 10 malls in Aurangabad and I found the following rates for Horse Gram (Kabuli Gram White bold):

1.  SPENCER Rs 65.00 per  kilo
2.  Cannaught Rs 55.00 per kilo
3.  Open Market Rs 35.00 per kilo
I think I will ask my local newspaper back home ‘The Lokmat Times’ to perform this task for the benefit of their readers.
The other articles written by Shilpa Chandran and Asma Salman – particularly her feature on the printing press – were also worth reading and preserving.
