Dear Stan,
I wonder if one of your readers could give a home to a kitten I took in recently. Minkie is 10-months-old (pictured right) and truly a lovely cat.

I adopted her from the BSPCA along with another cat, Mousa. Unfortunately Minkie and Mousa have been at war ever since, and we were forced, heartbreakingly, to choose between them.
We are looking for a permanent home for Minkie or for someone to foster her for six months while her passport documents clear and we can find her a home in the UK.
Minkie is a wonderful cat who would suit a home with no other pets. She has all her jabs and documents and would make someone a superb pet.
Please call if you think you can give Minkie a home.

Dear Stan,
I went for a mammogram at the Naim Health Centre on Lulu Road as I was told by a friend that it is free of charge for women who were 40 years old and above.
A charity group I have been involved in has been visiting the sick since 1998 and we have seen women who have later died of breast cancer at Salmaniya Medical Complex.
We have also been wondering why there were so many women of different nationalities in Bahrain who have died of breast cancer.  Bahrain is a very small place and the mortality of this kind of cancer appears to be very high.
I was very pleased to learn that through Shaikha Sabeeka and the Cancer Society this screening programme has come into fruition.

Dear Stan,
A group of Indian School Students of 1987 staged a reunion at the Lanterns Restaurant on August 31.
Out of a possible 120 students from that batch, 11 made it after a gap of 20 years, expressing wonder as many of  them had been on the island for quite some time but never knew others were here.
They would not have recognised one another going by the changes after a very, very long time. They cherished the times they had together at the Indian School and, of course, the good old days of Bahrain, recalling teachers who taught them, enquiring about others who may still be in Bahrain but could not be tracked down.
The attendees included Paresh Bhatia ... hindi song listeners favourite presenter as “Aap ka Paresh”, another presenter 'Tim' Timothy, Mansoor, Mohammed Mobeen, Jaan Thomas, Abdul Azeez, Nadeem, Subhash Balakrishnan, Shabbir, Ali Asgar and Manoj Verghese.
