THE maintenance crew at the new golf course recently carried out a rescue mission when they realised that a number of ducks have been temporarily left homeless during the construction period.
“Several enormous lakes have already been dug at the site but have not yet been filled with water,” explained Omer Alhaj.
“Also, the lakes that existed on the former golf course have been filled in, leaving the ducks with nowhere to go.
“ Luckily one of my greenkeepers, Abdulhassan Majeed, volunteered to take the ducks home and take care of them until they can be safely returned to the golf course, some time next year.
“I think they will find his back garden a lot more restful than a construction site!”
