Mazda's twin offer

THE International Motor Trading Agency WLL, based in Salmabad, the sole Mazda distributors in the kingdom, has showcased two exciting models this week ... and the first consignments to arrive in Bahrain have already been snapped up.

The growing Japanese car manufacturers have been staggered by the demand for the sporty Mazda MX-5 convertible and the seven-seater CX-9 SUV.

K N Singh, vice-president, said: "These are two new excellent products. Our first consignment of the seven-seater Mazda CX-9 is already sold out ... before the launch! As a result we are unable to offer test-drives until the new consignment arrives in January.

"Demand for the Mazda brand has grown by 17-18 per cent and I feel with the introduction of these two models we will be able to do even better."

Suzy Kanoo, company president, added: "They are great cars. I already own the Mazda MX-5 convertible and can't wait to get my hands on the CX-9, SUV! Both the products are launched at the perfect price ... and in the perfect niche."

The Mazda MX-5 is priced at BD9,900.

The Mazda CX-9 comes in two models - the basic model priced at BD10,300 and the high-spec GT priced at BD11,300 which includes fog lamps, 20-inch wheel rims, auto rear-door shut and Bose speaker systems.
