The Italian chef promises a menu "of what Italian cuisine is like today" for the Chaine des Rotisseurs dinner at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel's Mondo Restaurant on December 15.

Making her debut as chef for a chaine event, Chef Susy Massetti said: "The presentation is paramount" for the six-course menu, titled 'Nuovo Italian', where standard fare will be prepared in a very different way.

"In order to make it a memorable evening, I'll be doing my absolute utmost," said the Milanese chef.

Chef Massetti terms herself an executive, administrator and "a darn good cook" and will be teaming up with food and beverage manager Wolfgang Brandl who is the event co-ordinator.

Rather than the usual Thursday evening dinner, this month's chaine event will be on Saturday, "giving our valued members a double treat: a pre-National Day and festive celebration," said George Koumendakis, chaine chancellor.

The chaine's Bahrain chapter, founded 29 years ago, is part of a network of over 30,000 members in 123 countries of the guild which has its origins in 13th Century France.

Membership includes both professionals in the hospitality industry as well as those who merely enjoy well-prepared food.
