Two Batelco senior managers delivered presentation papers at the recent Mobile Optimisation Summit - 2007, arranged by International Quality & Productivity Centre (IQPC) in Dubai.
Batelco, as the leading integrated communications provider in Bahrain and one of the major telecom forces in the region, regularly sends representatives to major telecommunications exhibitions and conference around the world.
In line with this commitment, Batelco Mobile Network senior managers Abdul Hamid Chehab and Ameer Ali delivered presentations on 'Strategy and Practice of setting up and launching a new 3G network over existing 2G networks and migrating customers'.
The presentations were based on Batelco's experience in setting up their 3/3.5G network.
The participants included senior management and speakers from various parts of the world including the Middle East, Asia, Europe and USA.
Mr Chehab presented the strategy to be adopted while setting up a 3G network over a matured 2G network, while Mr Ali discussed the practical aspects and pitfalls to look for while implementing the same.
The presentation discussed various aspects including Core strategy; 3G experience in terms of throughput and penetration; common issues encountered; and pitfalls to be avoided while launching 3G.
The seminar also included a number of informative workshops on the latest 2/2.5G optimisation techniques and new product reviews that help operators extract maximum value from the network.
