The Meat Company - which boasts one of Bahrain's most popular restaurants - is set to expand across the Middle East and has plans to invest even more in its stylish establishment on the island.

Under the wing of Bahraini general manager Hussein Ali Al Araibi the restaurant has carved an important niche in the kingdom's competitive culinary environment of Adliya.

It opened in May at a project cost of BD1.5 million and it is clear to say no expense was spared in making sure it's modern, cool design was contemporary and classy.

But it's what is on the plate that really matters as far as diners are concerned and he has no doubt how to tempt the taste buds of food lovers in Bahrain.

He replied: "Steaks that you'll leave home for - complemented by traditional South African deserts and a fine selection of international beverages."

One of the most popular mouth-watering three-course selections on offer features the Mezze platter, prime rib, and a difficult choice between the chocolate foundante and the traditional South African Mulva Pudding.

The Meat Company is a South African Steak House-style restaurant. The first one was opened in Johannesburg in 2000 and was such as a success that additional branches followed in Mozambique, Australia, Dubai and now Bahrain.

Mr Al Araibi is a hotel course graduate from England's Chichester College. He started at the Gulf Hotel as a restaurant manager and was promoted to F&B service manager. He joined The Meat Company in May 2006 as general manager.

"I could not pass the opportunity of managing a branch of The Meat Company Group because of its fantastic international reputation," he said.

"It's a restaurant and brand that doesn't compromise on quality, has a down to earth ambience with a touch of Africa in it and offers exceptional service all year round and worldwide. How could any manager pass on such an opportunity?"

A roof top bar will be opening in the next few months in the Bahrain branch and The Meat Co is also preparing for more restaurant openings in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait and additional branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The company aims to establish Meat Company restaurants all over the world.
