AFTER a gruelling week of meetings, running errands and surviving the pressures of city life a visit to the countryside is a guaranteed way to recharge your batteries?

Or, perhaps it's the perfect retirement or holiday home you are looking or?

Picture it. Smell that fresh country air, behold the green fields that roll on for miles and let's not forget the sweet sound of silence.

If it is escape and a chance of mellow moments that you crave, then this property located five miles outside of North Winchester in the picturesque English county of Hampshire in the village of Owslebury could be for you.

It is about 96km from London and near the South Hampton International Airport.

Owslebury boasts a thriving, friendly community with a church, primary school, football and cricket clubs and a fine hostelry famed for serving delicious dishes. It also is within walking distance of Marwell Zoo.

The location and environment are ideal, and Blackberry Cottage stole our hearts. A pretty semi-detached, family home, it consists of three bedrooms, two reception rooms, a beautiful garden and a double garage along with off road parking.

The cottage is ideally placed, quiet and sought after location.

The entrance porch of the pretty family home leads to the glazed doors which open up to an entrance hall that leaves you wanting for more. The sitting room is both cosy and roomy with a raised open fireplace with painted brick surround and hearth.

The dining room is beautiful with its box bay windows and French doors that lead to the decked terrace which is fitted with useful low level cupboards and shelves to one wall.

A cloakroom can also be found on the ground floor, with a white suite and wall-mounted wash basin.

The kitchen breakfast room is fitted with an extensive range of modern cupboards, ample appliance space, and plumbing for the dishwasher and recess for the oven.

The utility room comes with matching cupboards, plumbing for the washing machine, a water filter system and an oil fired boiler.

The staircase that snakes up to the first floor has neat storage cupboards underneath which are ideal for family and household essentials (clutter!).

Moving onto the first floor, there is a landing with airing cupboard housing the hot water cylinder.

The large master bedroom archways to a dressing room that consists of pine built-in wardrobes, cupboards and drawers and an ensuite bathroom with white suite vanity and cupboards beneath it.

The second sizable bedroom comes with parquet flooring and the third is cosy and a reasonable size.

The family bathroom is designed in a modern and contemporary white suite of bath with power shower, a vanity wash basin with a heated towel railing.

Outside, the gardens are simply stunning, with the front edged with a post and rail-style fencing and mainly laid to lawn with complementary planting in keeping with the cottage feel. The driveway gives way to the rear where the remote control door-double garage is located.

Adjacent to the rear of the property is an isolated timber decked terrace, with pretty planting nearby. A gravelled pathway flanked with lawn flowers and shrubs lead up to the garage and greenhouse.

As for services, the cottage is equipped with main water and electricity; oil fired central heating, and a private drainage.

If you ever need a change of pace, Blackberry Cottage is an instant cure for anyone lusting after a very English countryside idyll.
