Nissan Altima 2008 model sales have surged 75 per cent compared to the corresponding model last year.

"Altima is very popular and sales of the 2008 model has really taken off. The new model is equipped with an array of advanced features that set it straight ahead of all competitors in its class," Nissan Middle East passenger vehicle brand manager Hirotaka Mima said.

"The new Altima feels like a completely different and more luxurious vehicle in terms of design, performance, use of quality materials and available amenities. Customers have really responded enthusiastically as sales demonstrate."

The new model features an array of advanced features including Nissan's intelligent key with push button ignition, built-in hands-free Bluetooth, nine-speaker Bose audio system with iPod connection, dual-zone automatic climate control and steering wheel-mounted controls for Bluetooth, Audio and Cruise control.

"The Nissan Altima is known for its durability and high performance, which was recently experienced during the 24-hours Altima endurance drive," Mr Mima said. "Due to the enhancements on the new model like the Xtronic CVT, all-new D-platform, and new generation 2.5L and 3.5L engines, we were able to achieve higher speeds than last year."
