Irony of ironies! Fashion guru
The annual list – and ensuing comments, compiled by designer Mr. Blackwell (yes that’s what he’s known as) said: “Forget Fashion Spice - wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty Posh can really wreck-em.”
When you take into consideration that La Beckham released a fashion bible last year and owns her own (with husband David) fashion label, it’s a wonder she doesn’t follow her own fashion tips.
Credit where credit’s due, she has advised both Katie Holmes and Jennifer Lopez on what to wear for various occasions and the ladies have ended up looking very chic indeed but it does have to be said, Victoria herself does seem to look more and more of a mess every time we see her!
Mrs Beckham was narrowly followed on the list by Amy Winehouse (who’s just gone blonde) and Mary-Kate Olsen – both of whom – regularly go out looking like a dog’s dinner and it seems a little unfair that she was top of the list when she at least makes the effort not to look like a bum on the street.
Noticeably missing from the list this year was last year’s winner, fashion disaster Britney Spears but Mr Blackwell Justified this by saying: “I felt that it was inappropriate at this time to make comment, when her personal life is in such upheaval. I hope 2008 is a better year for her.”
This however didn’t stop him from including Amy Winehouse who has had her fair share of trouble this year. Of her he said: “Exploding beehives above, tacky polka-dots below, she’s part 50s carhop horror.”
And Mary-Kate Olsen didn’t escape his sharp tongue either, with her look supposedly resembling: “a tattered toothpick trapped in a windstorm”.
Amusing if somewhat cutting Mr Blackwell!
