Dear Stan,I am writing to you and your team to thank you for all you did, yet again, for the Think Pink Bahrain 2007 campaign.

As you are aware, driving the message about breast cancer is important, and using vehicles such as GulfWeekly to spread this message is of the utmost importance and the opportunity to have four weeks coverage running throughout October was tremendous.

After our expenses: the meal for the gala evening, Think Pink pens, Think Pink T-shirts, printing, ribbons/pins and framing we have donated BD30,000 to the Bahrain Cancer Society.

The total Think Pink donation for 2007, including our ladies-only golf day, stands at BD34,000.

Seeing as Think Pink raised BD17,000 for 2006, doubling this amount in one year exceeded all our expectations.

We have been advised that the money will be used for the continuation of the free mammography drive that the society spearheaded two years ago.

Best regards,

Julie Sprakel

(Founding member of Think Pink Bahrain), Awali.

Dear Stan,

I've just read in last week's Whisperer column that maybe Ian Fisher will be taking over the Breakfast Show from Krazy Kevin. Oh dear .... I was hoping that one of the Bahraini DJs would have stepped in as their standard of music and broadcasting is just fantastic and so much more appealing - I just can't imagine Mr Fisher's appealing to many adults first thing in the morning, let alone students on their way to school, unless he brings his show into the 21st century and changes his tone!

Two programmes are turned off instantly in my household: Ian Fisher's and that truly dismally appalling boring sports programme hosted by the Irish DJ.

And yes it's true, Radio Bahrain's music is often months ahead of its UK and European counterparts which is to be applauded.

So bring back Krazy Kevin or replace him with one of the Bahraini DJs - they're brilliant and much more worthy of the airwaves.

Music lover,

Name and address supplied.

Dear Stan,

I was gobsmacked to read last week's article by Ask Betty!

She is always preaching about staying calm, relaxing and generally being at peace with everything around you and all her other New Age mantras, I truly couldn't believe her response to Disappointed and Disillusioned.

She needs to practice what she preaches or maybe Betsy needs some proper medical advice and medicine, like Valium, for instance. She seems totally out of control.

Greta Cook, Bahrain.

Editor's note; Is Betsy out of

control? See Page 13
