Dear Stan, With ref to the story about the Smurfs in last week's GulfWeekly, I agree with TV Weekly columnist Marie-Claire's comments.

I find cartoons ridiculous now and far fetched. They don't even make sense. Throughout the whole episode there appears to be no point to the story.

The only time you actually watch cartoons today is to figure out what the hell it's all about. Back then you'd watch it because it was funny and made you laugh.

I can't stand Cow and Chicken and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. My favorites were Tom and Jerry, Road Runner and Bionic Six. Cartoons back then were very innovative and although a few cartoons today are creative nothing beats the good ol' days.

Sam Camille, Budaiya.

Dear Stan,

I have lived in Bahrain on and off over the last 25 years and have seen a lot of really good changes. However, the one thing that remains is the standard of male British expat DJs on Radio Bahrain. One in particular, I hear, is moving to the breakfast show.

Please Radio Bahrain try to move into the 21st Century.

Listen to your competition such as Radio One in Dubai; it really puts you to shame. You have done a fantastic job of developing your Bahraini DJs so what happened with the expats?

Ex-expat radio listener,

name and address supplied.

Dear Stan,

WHY has the breakfast show been snatched and "Fished" from Krazy Kevin?

Kevin keeps the drive alive from home to school - I am absolutely certain that the show will not have the same tone when "Mr Fisher" takes over.

Please reconsider the shift and let Kevin remain with us in the morning.

I do not want to be coerced to listening to the likes of weather and 'horror-scopes' marring my otherwise beautiful mornings.

Sheerin, by email.

NOTE: Head of Radio Bahrain Salah Khalid said: "A number of changes are in the offing and these will be announced. Change is an important part of the business and is necessary.

"Even if it is true that Ian Fisher will be taking over the Breakfast Show I am sure that as a very committed DJ he will be just as good as Kevin who is also a very committed and good DJ and who will continue to be with the team anyway so his fans will still be able to listen to him."
