Mercedes-Benz has given its popular SLK roadster a makeover with new visual looks and engine enhancements.

Due to arrive in Middle East and Levant showrooms in April, the revised SLK gets new bumpers front and back, new door mirrors and AMG-styled darkened tail lights.

As for the engines, the power in SLK 350's 3.5 litre V6 has been upped to 305 hp with a subsequent improvement in the torque output to 265 lb ft, while the SLK 200K now puts out 184 hp, a significant 21 hp increase. The SLK 280 offers improved fuel consumption with less carbon emissions.

The powerful V8 in the stunning SLK 55 AMG is untouched although the vehicle does get the cosmetic changes as well as a new steering rack and a revised instrument cluster.

"Although these changes may be subtle, they all add to the excitement of driving the most popular roadster in its segment," said Frank Bernthaler, director, sales and marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars, Middle East and Levant.
