Wednesday (Feb 27)¥ A calligrapher, an award-winning author and an upcoming artist will be on spotlight an and event titled 'Night of Bahraini Talents' to be held at the Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya from 7pm.

Bahraini Mahmood Al Mulla is an award winning calligrapher and a founding member of the Bahrain Fine Arts Association. His work combines Arabic calligraphy with Asian influenced fine art. His work has been exhibited in France, UK, Egypt and Lebanon. He will showcase some of his latest work and speak about his experience using calligraphy as an artistic outlet.

Author Ali Al Saeed is an avid photographer and filmmaker in addition to writing two national best selling novels, QuioxtiQ (2004) and Moments (2006). A former journalist for two local papers, he currently contributes to Ohlala! Arabia and has a weekly column in the Gulf Daily News. He is currently working on two novels and expects to have a new book out this year.

Australia-based Bahraini artist Mariam Hadji will conduct a presentation of her work.

¥ A French Higher Education Fair will be held at the Gold Tulip Hotel in Manama from 4pm to 8pm. Representatives from the French Embassy and Campus France office for French Higher Education and Medical studies, Arabian Gulf University - the French Arabian School of Management and Finance, the Paris-Sorbonne Abu Dhabi University and Science PO Menton - Institute of Political Studies and Alliance Francaise of Bahrain will be present. ¥ A Poetry and music recital 'Raat Gaye' ('Overnight') will be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Manama from 8.30pm.

The event will be hosted by well-known Pakistani television anchor Ammar Masood and it will be broadcast over a series of episodes on Pakistan Television.
