Ernst &Young (E&Y) Bahrain retained their RBSC International Cricket Sixes title on a rain-interrupted day at the Polo Club Ground in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the final, E&Y Bahrain defeated UBL Pakistan by five wickets with two overs to spare. The Pakistan side was coached by ex-Test star Mansoor Akhtar and included a couple of under-19 cricketers.

Batting first, UBL-Pakistan were all out for 49 in 4.4 overs with Rizwan Baig (2-8), Yaser Sadeq (2-7), and Ashraf Baig (2-11) sharing the spoils. The bowlers were backed by excellent fielding as the UBL players resorted to rash and lofted shots which accounted for their collapse. E&Y Bahrain reached the target scoring 50-1 in four overs, thanks to Baig's 20, including two sixes, and Adnan Butt's unbeaten 12.

In the semi-final, E&Y Bahrain edged out a strong Nisa Phoenix of India after restricting them to to 67 for no loss in five overs.

E&Y Bahrain were struggling at 45-5 in three overs and needing another 23 runs to win from two overs and the last pair at the crease. Opener Adnan Butt scored a hurricane knock of 44 not out, including three sixes and four boundaries as steered his side to victory in the last over.

In the other semi-final, UBL-Pakistan defeated ISSCO, from India.

E&Y Bahrain captain Yaser Sadeq received the trophy and cash award from Royal Bangkok Sports Club (RBSC) chairman Maj Gen Viraj Vanijaka.

Nisa Phoenix won the plate beating ISSCO in the final.

Nisa's Devang Khatri won the 'best bowler' award, and also earned the 'best all-rounder' prize. The 'best batsman' award went to Bahrain's Adnan Butt, who also won the award for the most number of sixes (21).

In the preliminary matches, E&Y Bahrain finished on top defeating India Power, Axiom, Chittagong and last year's semi-inalists, Indian Indoor.

E&Y Bahrain 'A' also finished on top defeating Bangkok University, Raju CC, Nisa Phoenix Starlet, CC&FC 1. The 'A' team lost in the quarter-finals against Maldives.
