Beijing will soon have a new landmark illuminating its skyline - Hyatt will launch Park Hyatt Beijing in the heart of the capital's Central Business District, becoming the tallest skyscraper on famous Chang'an Avenue and the first Park Hyatt hotel in China.
Park Hyatt is the most exclusive of the Hyatt brands, catering to elite, discerning travellers seeking luxury in the world's most prime locations.
"The opening of Park Hyatt Beijing will set a new stage of luxury accommodation for the increasing number of Middle East travellers to China," said Thierry Bertin, area director of marketing - Middle East, Hyatt International Hotels and Resorts.
"Not only is it exclusive, the property recreates a 'home away from home' where Middle East travellers can now rediscover elegance while on business or pleasure in one of the fastest growing cities in the world," Bertin added.
Park Hyatt Beijing will join the likes of Park Hyatt Tokyo, immortalised in the Oscar-winning film Lost in Translation. And also Park Hyatt Sydney on the banks of Sydney Harbour, recently voted among the World's Best Hotels by Travel + Leisure magazine.
Directly opposite the China World Trade Centre, Park Hyatt Beijing will take the uppermost floors in the main tower of the soon-to-open Beijing Yintai Centre. Created by the world-renowned, award-winning American architectural firm Portman, the Beijing Yintai Centre has been conceived as a city within itself, an 'urban oasis' where people can live, work, shop, dine and entertain in one location, minimising the stress and carbon footprint of daily commuting.
The main Park Tower will be crowned with a Chinese palace 'lantern' at its apex, which at night will light up like an iconic beacon. On arrival, express elevators will sweep guests up to Level 63 where the lobby and lounge will be located. Above this entrance floor will be a live jazz lounge on Level 65, and on the very top floor at Level 66, an international eatery with a soaring glass pyramid ceiling.
Officially the highest restaurant in Beijing, the elevated dining room will provide the most commanding, 360-degree views of the capital. On Levels 59 and 60, a tranquil spa will house eight treatment rooms, a relaxation deck, a 25-metre indoor lap pool and an exercise studio.
Above Park Hyatt Beijing, on Levels 50 through 58 (plus 35 and 36), will be the exclusive Park Hyatt Penthouses. Below the hotel will be Park Hyatt Residences, 216 fully furnished apartments designed by Remedios Siembieda Inc, the majority of which have already been sold. Owners and tenants of these luxury apartments will be able to enjoy many of the hotel's services and facilities.
Park Hyatt Beijing will be the first Park Hyatt hotel in China, with the second, the Park Hyatt Shanghai opening in July.
