The Cannes Film Festival is the theme of tomorrow's Chaine des Rotisseurs dinner at the InterContinental Regency Hotel.

Members will meet in the Regency Room for a reception before they take to the red carpet to enter Les Versailles, says Ahmed Salah, hotel food and beverage manager who is also the event co-ordinator.

The six-course dinner will spotlight a film for each course, using a lights-camera-action start along with food, beverage and music identified with the film.

Like at a Cannes dinner party, waiters and waitresses will be dressed in black with a black-and-white setup at Les Versailles.

An Oscar will be the centrepiece of each table. The chefs in charge of the menu are Nader Razak and Mohammed Saman. Newly-arrived general manager James McDonald is a 'hands-on' part of the event team.

A highlight of the evening will be the induction of six new members into the chaine with three current members being promoted to higher ranks in the Bahrain chapter in a ceremony presided over by its president Khalid Almoayyed. The organisation is this year celebrating 760 years since its founding in France.
