From the team behind Walking with Dinosaurs comes Primeval the brand new fantasy dinosaur drama on ShowSeries every Friday at 6pm.
Primeval sees prehistoric creatures - some cute, some fearsome - turning up in modern Britain.
A series of anomalies in the structure of time are allowing prehistoric creatures to roam contemporary Britain.
The government grudgingly turns to evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter and his team of experts - natural history buff Stephen Hart, graduate student and conspiracy theorist Connor Temple, and zoo keeper Abby Maitland - for help in coping with the rampaging dinosaurs.
Will their investigations solve the mystery of what happened to Cutter's wife, who disappeared while probing a dinosaur sighting eight years before?
Writer Adrian Hodges explained the special effects and the possibilities of the exciting fantasy drama.
"Effects and monsters can take you so far, but you've got to have a human story that works with it. I'd had an idea for a long time about a man who'd lost his wife in mysterious circumstances, but I never had a context in which to put it. In the fantasy genre, it suddenly clicked. I thought what if this man has not only lost his wife in mysterious circumstances but lost her millions of years back in time? That would certainly add something."
With its blend of horror, action and romance, Primeval takes CGI expertise to new levels.
Tim Haines, Primeval's executive producer, added: "With Primeval we had the chance to create fully-realised 'creature characters' for the first time in a TV drama.
"It was a great opportunity to apply our expertise in making CGI characters come 'alive' and become an integral part of the programme."
Featuring state-of-the-art special effects, but grounded by a very human love story - PRIMEVAL is compelling viewing for the whole family.
