The 16th Al Ayam Cultural Festival is set to begin on September 10 ending on September 19. The festival will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in hall 1. Award-winning Indian singers K S Chitra and Dr S P Balasubramanium will perform at the Centrepoint Desert Symphony music concert on October 2. It will be held during Eid at the Indian School grounds in Isa Town.

ARTLOUNGE gives artists in Bahrain a showcase venue to be enjoyed by art lovers in a relaxed atmosphere. Now, ARTLOUNGE 2 will take place at Banyan Tree Al Areen proudly exhibiting fine art work by nine Bahraini artists. Paintings, sculptures and photo art will be on display, arranged at an amazing venue.

The opening night will be on October 23 from 7pm at the alfresco, central courtyard of Nadwah Ballroom.

To further enhance the spirit of the exhibition, specially prepared ARTLOUNGE menus will be available and the exhibition runs till November 1.

Participating artists are: painters Fajer Al Khalifa, Faika Al Hassan, Lobna Al Amin, Balqees Fakhroo, Kareema Taha; sculptors Ali Al Machmed and Fuad Albinfalah and photographers Khalil Hammad and Ali Al Koofy.

In cooperation with Banyan Tree, a percentage of the exhibition's profits will be used to purchase art supplies for the Sneha recreation centre for children with special needs.

The Bahrain International Motor Show is set to launch a spectacular showcase for new production vehicles, aftermarket tuners and concept cars in hall 1 of the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre from October 8- 11.

The 17th World Memory Championship is set to be held in Bahrain for the second consecutive year on October 23-26. The event is hosted by Intelnacom Bahrain and takes place at the Gulf International Convention Centre, Gulf Hotel, Manama.

Over three days of competition, competitors from the around the world will face gruelling mental challenges, from memorizing a sequence of random words in fifteen minutes to remembering the sequence of playing cards in as many decks as possible in one hour. The World Memory Championships will take place during Bahrain's 2008 Festival of the Mind which presents an exciting four days of mind games, inspiring feats and amazing workshops that will draw some of the most talented masterminds to the kingdom.
