Bahrain to host 'level one' coaching course

The Asian Cricket Council is staging a 'level one' coaching course in Bahrain. Eighteen countries from the continent will participate in the event which will be held at the Delmon International Hotel from October 15-19.

Iqbal Sikander, a member of Pakistan's World Cup winning team, Roger Binny, a member of the Indian World Cup winning team, and Dr Vece Paes, the father of Indian tennis star Leander Paes, will be involved in its presentation.

The council will also be holding a seminar to discuss future funding policies at the same venue on October 23-24 featuring Tim Anderson of the ICC alongside Bandula Warnapura and Sikander of the ACC. It will be attended by leading cricket officials from the Gulf region.

The prestigious events will be staged in the kingdom as a result of the sport's promotion under the leadership of executive president Mohamed Ali Abul and vice-president Aref Sadeq, a spokesman of the Bahrain Cricket Association said.
