FASHION house Max, with newly-opened stores at Muharraq and the Bahrain City Centre, has unveiled its new seasonal collection for women, men and children.

As far as ladieswear is concerned the biggest trend in the city is Metallics. With metallic jacquards, satins and jerseys, it is evident all the way from casual wear to evening wear and they are versatile enough to be worn with denims for a casual glam look.

Chunky knitwear and ponchos are the new coats this winter and thick and bulbous, the season's knitwear is anything but fine gauge.

Animal prints are also here to stay with prints inspired from snake skins, zebra skins and the eternal favourite - leopard skin.

Tartan plaids in classic reds, greens and blacks and glitter coated tweed jackets in gold and silver also define the season and are sure to stop the traffic in the city.

But subtle tailored silhouettes set the tone for the man about town. Neutral shades, which include grays and browns, and fashion colors such as rust, mustards and shades of green reflect the key colors, that team up to make exciting patterns in argyles and sweaters.

Sharply-tailored jackets lend a masculine look in a variety of fabrics like mole skin, velvet and corduroy. Country checks and stripes find resonance in winter plaid and lumberjack shirts.

Denims have a new take on with interesting vintage details.

Upgraded fabrics and stone washing mark influences team up for a smartly diluted high street look.

The cool is in the details, right whiskers, fray marks, prints, rips and washes give the vintage denim the best value for its competitive price.

For the young, garments that are comfortable and practical yet super-cool, dynamic and spirited is the name of the game.

The mood of the collection this season is decisively inspired by the world of 'rock' music, perfectly interpreted through the use of black denim and smoky tones and shades of grey.

The main protagonist is denim, carefully studied in all the washes, treatments and fits available. Splashes of colour abound in striking red check shirts for the boys and funky hot-pink tops and jackets for girls.

The collection also features a wide range of urban outerwear. Padded jackets in shiny nylons, parkas, colourful faux-furs and chic little coats along with the season's must-haves: bright T-shirts, sweatshirts and multi-coloured knits complete the coolest winter gear in the city.

What's hot for coming season

According to Max fashion anaylists the following accessories are hot this coming season:

For the ladies, bold and bright is the way to go, with chunky bangles, florals and cocktail rings.

Oversized and clutch bags will define this season and so will oversized and coloured sunglasses.

For young starlets, there's neon jewellery, funky brooches in addition to a wide range of colourful bags and wallets.

Men can look forward to an array of cufflinks, belts and watches for both their formal and casual attire.
