Bahrain's Irish community is hosting its annual 'Bahrain Irish Festival 2008' from November 20 to 22 at the JJ's Irish Restaurant in Adliya. The Riffa Views Bahrain Rugby Football Club is hosting the Etihad Gaelic Games on November 21 from 10am to 5pm. A special children's Gaelic games exhibition match will also be played at the same venue. Irish bands from five countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Ireland alongside Bahrain will entertain the crowds with traditional Irish music as well as pop and rock. The Ritz-Carlton is hosting a Sensational Seasonal Brunch on November 21 as a celebration of culinary delights with the collaborative efforts by the hotel's chefs highlighting their creations. The Indian Ladies (ILA) is hosting the Workers Welfare Day on November 21 at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam's Diamond Jubilee Hall in Segaiya. The event titled 'Amidst Sharing _ Hum Saath Saath Hai' will welcome nearly 2,000 workers from various labour camps of Bahrain. The Bahrain Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will sponsor a 'dog walk' day on November 22 starting at 11am. The walk will cover 4km of the society's new site at Askar. The event will feature a fun day out for the family with barbecue, popcorn, goodie bags, prizes, bouncy castle and more. The Caledonian Society in Awali is hosting St Andrews Night Ball on November 28 at the Bapco Club at 7.30pm. The event starts at 8pm. Well-known comedian Russell Peters will perform at the 'Bahrain Comedy' on December 11 at the Bahrain Exhibition Centre, Manama.

Peters will make his debut Bahrain appearance along with some of the local stand-up comedians who performed during the first show of 'Bahrain Comedy' in October 2008 including Wadah Swar, Yousif Taha and Rehman Akhtar.

DJ Imran Al-Aradi will MC the show and DJ Outlaw will also entertain guests, both of who appeared at the show last month.

Peters is a Canadian stand-up comedian with an Anglo-Indian origin started his stand-up career at the age of 19. For more details contact 17297040.

The Filipino Club in cooperation with FC Sayaw Unlimited will host the Ms Philippines Bahrain 2008 competition on December 17 at the Gilgamesh Hall in the Golden Tulip Hotel, Manama.

The show will begin at 7pm. Proceeds of the event will go to the Bahrain Society for Children with communication and behavioural difficulties (Alia) and the distressed workers OWWA centre.
