EMMA Boyd finished with a 11-over 163 to win the 21st Bahrain Ladies Open Golf Championship at Awali Golf Club.

This was Boyd's fourth successive title, and fifth overall, in the annual event, and she did so in spectacular fashion - winning by a record margin of 21 shots.

Yvonne Newall secured the runner-up spot, while former champion Liz Noble was third.

Boyd carded an eagle and three birdies en route to securing the winner's trophy. Her score shattered the previous winning margin of 19 shots, which she herself set in last year's tournament.

"It has been a great two days of golf; I've broken the record again and I'm really glad to be here as the winner for the fourth straight year," Boyd said.

"This win is very much different from those in the past. I was able to take it by a big margin even though I don't think I played all that well.

"My eagle on the 15th helped me out a lot. I used an eight iron to get onto the brown from the rough, and then I sunk a long, long putt, which boosted my confidence."
