Gulf Weekly A gala time for Tala residents

Residents of Tala Island attended their first official meet and greet on Thursday for a night of entertainment and family fun with flame dancers, delicious food and traditional Bahraini folk dancing.

Tala Property Development Group arranged the gathering so home-owners can finally start feeling like a community. Ghazi Farhan, general manager of Tala Island, was happy with the turn-out and very satisfied.

He said: "Everyone is happy and loving the entertainment we arranged for the children. Seeing them smile is the most important thing and that is why we are initially here - to make sure that our home-owners are pleased and enjoy living in Tala.

"One of the main reasons we had this meet and greet is we want residents to be involved in the decisions at Tala. We care about their likes and dislikes and will take their opinions to heart as this is their home.

"At the same time we want the residents to feel like they are part of a community. We want them to mingle so we used big round tables. We hope this will be an annual thing but we also have special functions planned out during the year for example for Eid and New Year night. We would like to celebrate special occasions with them and we want them to know that they don't have to travel far for some fun."

Tala Island boasts many beautiful and spacious villas and apartments offering stunning sea views. It is located at the heart of Amwaj Islands on the north-eastern coast of Muharraq and is becoming increasingly popular with home-seekers looking for a serene lifestyle in an ideal residential location. The commute to and from Tala Island is fast and easy, with access to all areas of Bahrain via a newly-constructed three-lane highway. The development is only 10 minutes from Bahrain International Airport, 22 minutes from Manama city centre and 45 minutes from the King Fahad Causeway to Saudi Arabia.

Tala features beautiful beach front villas in Spanish /Mediterranean style, modern spacious apartments, two landscaped pools, a marina facility, beach areas and a boardwalk, health club, tennis court, squash court, communal beach and a supermarket.

There are 46 beach front villas with seven different designs to choose from occupying a total built-up area of 390 sq m to 523 sq m. The villas come with four, five and six bedrooms and one or two garage spaces.

There are 42 two-storey mid-size terrace apartments, ranging from 190 sq m to 280 sq m with ample parking space.

There are only 48 private marina apartments including 12 penthouses with two layout options. The apartments directly overlook the sea, ranging from 280 sq m to 600 sq m and boast a private beach, swimming pool and modern facilities.

There are also 31 blocks consisting of 365 apartments which form the backbone of Tala Islands. The apartments are available with two, three or four bedrooms, ranging from 115 sq m to 325 sq m.

The Bridgeview apartments are ideal for newly married couples or small families. There are 148 apartments ranging from 94 sq m to 166 sq m.

Bader Radhi, 23, product developer at KFH, said: "I love living at Tala Island for the facilities and because it is away from the busy city life of Bahrain. It is my getaway. I have a two bedroom sea view apartment and I am truly enjoying the luxurious amenities there are on hand.

"You really feel relaxed at Tala. The weather is nice at the moment which is great for outdoor activities too."

Cousin Dana Saeed Radhi, 27, and husband Hussain also live on Tala Island, owning a two bedroom beach townhouse. She said: "Although Tala may be a bit far out, it has so much to offer so it makes up for the distance. It is slowly getting better because when we first moved in the island had nothing.

"Now we have a supermarket and I am loving that. I don't have to leave the island for groceries anymore. I also think this is a great place to start a family."

The Belawed family lives in a four bedroom villa and was one of the first to move to Tala.

Fatiah Belawed, mother of four, said: "We have been living here for one year and used to feel so alone at the beginning. All we saw were workers. Now we are happy to have neighbours and the homes look great. We really enjoy living here because of the swimming facilities and the closeness you get from the people around you. I feel like we are all one big happy family."

Massouma Bahman, an executive at Cathay Pacific Airways is considering Tala for her new home. She said: "I am actually visiting a friend but am really enjoying the community feel and facilities on the island. Inshallah I will purchase my own home here - why not?!"
