England must be commended for taking a brave stand and touring India despite the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
This is a step in the right direction as cricket cannot be held to ransom by such dastardly acts which happen all over the world.
The English cricketers will have to wipe out the memories of what they saw on television and move on to the business of playing the game.
It won't be easy. Such acts leave a deep impression and concentrating on cricket will not be easy.
Hopefully time will heal everything and England will put on their best show, overcoming their trauma and lack of practise.
If England come through without any incidents, then it will also indirectly help Pakistan who have been in cricketing wilderness all of this year.
With the series against India also likely to be called off over rising tensions, Pakistan also deserve a break.
India must not underestimate England in the two Test series starting tomorrow.
A golden run against England in the one-dayers has made India firm favourites. But Test matches are a different cup of tea.
England are a good Test team without doubt. Though they were outplayed by South Africa at home in the summer, Pietersen did a great job to earn his team a consolation win in the last Test.
The subsequent one-day series was won convincingly by England and there was hope that the team was turning the corner once again under the aggressive Pietersen.
The India series brought home some realities for the England captain. The good thing for the team is that their skipper is a realist and has an insatiable desire to be a winner.
India are riding a high in the Test matches too. Beating Australia was a major feat and the fact that it was done with clinical precision will boost their confidence.
India's lineup has not changed much with the exception of the number six slot which should deservingly go to Yuvraj Singh.
The left-hander must be nurtured by the Indian selectors as he has the special talent to become a great player.
He must be given a long run to so that he can capitalise on his one-day performances and deliver the goods.
The bowling will be key to India's success. Both Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma have given vital breakthroughs at the start and spinners Harbhajan Singh and Amit Mishra have backed them up.
England have a solid lineup but the batting will once again revolve around Pietersen.
The patience game won't work. England must adopt an aggressive attitude to overcome India. The Australians paid the price in this aspect.
It won't be easy because Mahendra Singh Dhoni is proving to be a top captain. His unorthodox captaincy has an answer to every problem.
But Pietersen may be the man to push England into fourth gear.
