Ahad Holdings has awarded the construction contract to build Le Reef, its maiden realty venture, to Al Sharooq contracting company.
Le Reef is located directly by the sea and will feature two low-rise 10-storey towers with 142 residential apartments offering scenic landscapes and water surroundings.
The developers are confident its prime location and innovative design will prove popular on Reef Island, a gated community that will offer recreational amenities and state-of-art facilities such as a private marina, five-star hotels, health spas, medical and convention centres.
Hamid Nishat, chairman and CEO of Ahad Holdings, said: "We have appointed Al Sharooq after auditing bids from a host of regional construction majors in strict accordance with global benchmarks.

Al Sharooq said it was 'honoured' to be associated with Ahad Holdings to build the prestigious development and says it will utilise the latest construction technology and design ideas to ensure the project is a success.
Le Reef's distinguishing feature is that every apartment will boast sea or lagoon views.
The semi-furnished one, two and three bedroom apartments possess balconies and will be equipped with 'modern design elements and world class finishing' based on eastern and western themes.
Two exclusive penthouses of 1,000 square metres each, will have pools and large terraces and boast 360 degree sea views.
An elevated swimming pool, wellness centre, coffee lounge and external board-walk will also form a part of an array of recreational amenities in the project.
Other partners appointed by Ahad Holdings to support Le Reef's project team include MSCEB as interior design consultants, Al Jazeera Engineering as civil consultants and Landmark Bahrain as sales and marketing agents. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010.
