Psychics scheme to take revenge

I am not much of a fan of science fiction movies but I have to admit that Push is quite interesting.

I wasn't hoping for a good time when I went to Saar Cineplex this weekend but thanks to amazing acting by the cast, good directing and hi-tech shooting I enjoyed this movie.

It was interesting to witness a world where there are people with special talents who can see the future, move objects with their minds and control others' thoughts

Nick Gant (Chris Evans) is one of those few people who are skilled psychics. He has been living in Hong Kong since the Division killed his father more than a decade ago.

The Division is a government agency which is genetically transforming citizens into an army of psychic warriers and brutally murdering those who are not willing to participate.

Hong Kong is a safe haven for people with special talents and to seek his revenge Nick is secretly assembling a team of rogue psychics dedicated to destroying The Division.

Nick went into hiding because he didn't want to be part of the agency but he changes his mind when a 13-year-old clairvoyant or watcher Cassie Holmes, played by my favourite young actress Dakota Fanning, knocks on his doors.

She wants to enlist him in a scheme to steal $6 million and save her mother who is being held by The Division and also steal a suitcase which could be the key to accomplishing their mutual goal.

Her mother is an escaped pusher who may have the solution to ending the Division's programme. Pushers have the most dangerous of all psychic powers. They can influence others' actions by implanting thoughts in their minds.

Nick and Cassie's presence attracts the attention of the agency forcing them to flee for their lives but with the help of a team of psychics the pair find a way to stay a step ahead of the authorities while they continue their search for her mother.

However this task is not easy since The Division agent Henry Carver, a pusher, will stop at nothing to keep them from achieving their goal.

Showing in: Seef (II), Saar Cineplex and Al Jazeera Cineplex.
