Dear Stan, The Awali Ladies Hospitality Group has set the date for its annual craft fair. It is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 7, at the Bapco Club in Awali.

Registration will start in September. The registration forms will be emailed to our previous valuable participants in the first week of September and new participants can obtain them from the Bapco Club in Awali.

The Awali Craft Fair is our major fundraising event and money is donated to local charities throughout the year. During the first six months of 2009 we have donated more than BD6,000 to good causes such as Bahrain Mobility International, Palm Association Bahrain, Sneha, Gaza women and children, Hope Institute and Helping Hands.

Fatima Al Sayed, chairperson, Awali Ladies Group.

Dear Stan,

May I suggest you start looking for a film reviewer that understands the meaning of objective reporting as soon as possible after Farishta Saeed's truly woeful attempt to pass grown-up comment on the Steven Seagal film, Kill Switch.

Barry Norman (David Wakefield, Bahrain).

Editor's note: It's all about opinion; Faristhta gives it to you straight, whether she likes a film, or in the case of Seagal's latest offering, not.

Dear Stan,

ON behalf of the management, staff and students of New Millennium School - DPS, I take this opportunity to thank you for an excellent coverage of the scholar awards function through your widely circulated newspaper.

In this regard, we appreciate your efforts and I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your kind support in making the function a grand success.

We look forward to our ongoing association in future as well.

Thanking you,

Arun Kuumar Sharma,

principal.

Dear Stan,

Greetings from The Indian Ladies Association. With reference to the feature that came out in the June 24-30 issue of GulfWeekly, we would like to thank you for the extensive and informative coverage you have given about the ILA Speak Easy classes.

We have been flooded with enquiries as to when our next classes are going to be held.

Apart from that we also got responses from women who wanted to join our association to be part of this kind of endeavour.

The Speak Easy classes were initiated from the year 2000 and not 2004 as mentioned in the report.

We know that all our community outreach programmes have enjoyed the success and recognition only because of the media coverage.

Your reporter Anasuya Kesavan has done an excellent job in managing to bring out the essence of the Learn English programme. We thank you again for that and look forward to your support in the future as well.

Deepa Chandran,

general secretary.

Dear Stan,

With reference to K S Sreekumar's Talking Business column last week headlined 'Banking on sukuks in a crisis'. It was well written and informative and I enjoyed reading it.

Krishnan S Iyer,

chief financial officer,

Al Enma'a House for Real Estate, Bahrain.

Dear Stan,

Thank you for reporter Shilpa Chandran's excellent write up and customer feedback on iSpace.

The article has captured the essence of youth habits and technology simultaneously.

Deepa Johnson,

marketing manager,

Khalid Almoayed & Sons.
