Dear Stan, My name is Dinesh Ramanathan (better known as Dinesh R) and I'm a 17-year-old Indian by nationality who has been residing in Bahrain all my life. I have been a regular reader of GulfWeekly since 2003 and have found the publication to be highly interesting, informative and stimulating as well as terrific material for light reading.

Catering to individuals from every nook and corner of society, GulfWeekly has rapidly progressed and continues to do so, consequently earning a high degree of regard and respect from readers throughout the kingdom.

Be it a child who has just learned the letters of the alphabet, a retired big-shot or even a client waiting at a reception, GulfWeekly never fails to leave a lasting impression on the reader. From the big, bold colourful headlines to the eagle-eyed reporters, the newspaper always has a heady mix of current affairs, trends, events, announcements, sport and a whole lot more to offer.

An insight into the personalities of tomorrow who reside right here amongst all of us in Bahrain and how they go about being masters of their art is a regular feature in this editorial that I have always looked upon as a brilliant idea. Encouragement and publicity maximise ten-fold through the crisp pages of GulfWeekly ,which is more often than not a stepping stone to the budding individual's success.

Yes, there are and will always be a tonne of magazines, supplements and tabloids that will continue to appear on our doorsteps early every morning, but with sheer conviction I am able to claim that there is absolutely NO substitute for the friendly features this weekly continues to offer.

I've seen a tremendous change in the reporters and columnists that make GulfWeekly what it is every week. Over the years the heroes behind the scenes have changed, the features have changed, the layout has changed, even the day GulfWeekly comes out every week has changed from Thursday to Wednesday.

And primarily, the editor and his team of magicians have changed to bring nothing but a wave of enhanced rejuvenation, positivity and class to the publication.

Dear Stan,

I have now received a copy of the GulfWeekly article on my departure from Bahrain after 35 years. I am so pleased that reporter Anasuya managed to get the right tone - more about my thanks to one and all in Bahrain rather than how much I have done. I bet some of the pictures of us as kids gave a few readers a good laugh. Hope to be off on our sailing adventures tomorrow so must go and pack. Diane Lindsay, By email.
