Kart Zone at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir is offering a 25 per cent discount on tickets and 40 per cent off Formula One merchandise at the circuit's Welcome Centre shop. Costs are BD3.750 for adults and BD3 for juniors until August 31.

Time in the karts can be purchased for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes and a full hour between 5pm to 11 pm on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Participants must be at least 1.4 meters in height and up to 15 years old to be able to take part as a junior driver.

The Kasaragod District Pravasi Association-Bahrain is hosting the Mera Bharat Mahaan contest from 6.30pm at the Karnataka Social Club's Cultural Hall, Manama. A flag hoisting ceremony will be held at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam in Segaiya at 7.30 am on Saturday to celebrate the 62nd Anniversary of India's Independence. All Indian nationals and their families have to assemble at the club premises by 7.15am.

As part of the Bahrain Summer Festival the Nakhool Tent is put up at the Hillat Abd Al Saleh Village in Seef featuring live competitions for kids with Sa'adon Children Music band, children and family cinema daily, educational and artistic workshop on drawing and coloring on pots, 'Draw Nakhool' daily drawing competition for children between eight and 12, live daily competitions, scrap book classes and design of cards, book marks and photo frames for ages 10 to 18 and a puppet show called El Laylah El Kbeera.
