The husband and wife pair of Oystein and Helen Nilssen's persistence paid off scoring 1 up against the pairing of Soy Butler and Debbie Lane to bring Captain Alan Horne's team a 6-4 win over vice-captain Mark Holmans at the Royal Golf Club.
A total of 20 teams took part in the inaugural Royal Golf Club Captain versus Vice Captain tournament which was held in the Better Ball Match Play format. The event saw Horne and his playing partner Michael Braidwood, the club's general manager win 3-1 over Holmans and Phil Jones, the club's director of operations.
A trophy for the event was provided by former club captain Peter Loubser which teams will compete for on an annual basis.
