Dear Stan, Thanks for covering the Premier for Michael Jackson's This Is IT movie last week.

I was just wondering if you happen to know where the movie will play in Bahrain and how can tickets for the event be obtained. Many thanks.

Nayla, by email.

Dear Stan,

I refer to your Film Weekly article entitled 'Jacko's Back!'

Whilst I applaud you for announcing that this film is coming to Bahrain, I can't help feel that I want to slap you round the head with a wet lettuce leaf for calling Michael 'Jacko'!

Will you and your team please refrain from calling him by this name, which for the record - in case you have forgotten - what his proper name is. It is Michael Joseph Jackson.

He hated the name Jacko or even worse, Wacko Jacko. The man is now dead so I think a little respect for the world's greatest entertainer is in order, don't you?

Abigail Navarre, by email.

Dear Stan,

Hello, I just read an article about the Michael Jackson movie coming to Bahrain. Can you tell me how to get tickets? Thanks!

Dear Stan,

One cannot deny that the real estate sector in Bahrain and the Gulf region has been adversely impacted by the current global economic slowdown.

But the situation is no longer as bleak as it may have seemed a year ago, with regional governments having taken measures to stabilise the markets, in particular, the real estate sector.

Bipex 2009 thus comes at a critical stage when the real estate sector is on the threshold of resurgence and the exhibition will certainly make a significant contribution in charting the future course of the industry, both in the near and long term.

The crisis has definitely brought one pertinent fact to the forefront - that the real estate sector is built on a strong foundation and it is this underlying strength that has ensured that sentiment in the regional market continues to remain positive.

The response from exhibitors to Bipex 2009 is a clear indication of the return of market confidence in the sector, with over 80 per cent of the exhibition area having being booked despite the adverse economic events of the past few quarters.

Editor's note: Bipex 2009 will be held from October 14 to 16 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

Dear Stan,

I enjoyed Marie-Claire's column last week about treating women like ladies - very true, and just as important in business.

Manners and respect for others opens doors, more so than brute force, don't you think?

Years ago, as part of the officers' courses in the South African Defence Force, we were taught the basics of social interaction and being gentlemen, how to introduce people, seating arrangements for dinners, toasting, etc!
