A string of impressive performances over the summer saw 20-year old Daniel Owen earn enough points to win the third quarter of the Ecco Monday Stableford at the Royal Golf Club despite not being available to compete for the past three weeks.
Daniel, who is studying for a degree in golf management at a British university, left Bahrain at the beginning of September to begin a new term. However, his position at the top of the Order of Merit was unbeatable leaving PGA Professional Colin Ferguson to settle for the runners-up spot.
"We are glad Daniel was in excellent form when he returned to Bahrain for the Faldo Series Asia Middle East Championship," said John Wilson, the club's tournament director.
"Over the summer I saw all the hard work he put in at the practice range and on the practice putting green and he fully deserves this win. On behalf of Ecco and everyone at the Royal Golf Club we would like to pass on our congratulations to Daniel and wish him all the best."
Wilson presented Daniel with a new pair of Ecco golf shoes valued at BD65 as his prize for winning the third quarter leg of the series.
