Wednesday (Nov 25) Alliance Franaise in Isa Town is hosting a festival of animation movies until Saturday. Some titles have been selected by the Annecy Festival and French Film Office to illustrate the creativity of French production.

Bahrain City Centre is hosting a photo exhibition showcasing a 35-day expedition of Nabil Al Busaidi, the first Arab to have walked to the magnetic North Pole. The exhibition will be held until Sunday.

Nabil was born in 1970 in London. He went to Bath University where he graduated with a Bachelor in Mathematics and a Masters in Management. Nabil represented his university in rugby, shooting and was awarded university colours for playing football.

In 1998 he moved to the Middle East and was part of the Bahrain rugby team in 1999 that won the Arabian Gulf League, Gulf Cup, and got to the semi-finals of the Amsterdam 7s tournament. In 1993, Nabs climbed Mont Blanc the highest mountain in Europe. Between 2001 and 2004, Nabil competed three times in the British winter Biathlon (cross country, skiing and shooting) championships, earning the nickname 'der Sultan auf Schnee' (the Sultan of Snow) in the German press. The Thrissur Engineering College Alumni (TECA), Bahrain Chapter is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the TECA NITE 2009 on November 26 from 7pm at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam in Segaiya.

The event will feature well-known South Indian playback singer, Sheela Mani, and her team of orchestra with popular numbers from Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi film songs. A variety of cultural events by TECA will also be held. Guest of honour for the function is noted Indian music director Mohan Sitara.

During the celebrations, the TECA Website will be launched, inaugurated by Eng. A Majeed Al-Gassab, president of the Bahrain Society of Engineers.

The island's first Harley Davidson Bahrain International Beach Music Festival will take place today until Monday at the Marina Club, Manama, and will feature a host of well-known DJs - 16 from Ibiza and 10 from the region.

The festival will also feature a variety of events including beach volleyball, food, music, jet skis, martial art shows as well an art exhibition.

Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny will perform on Saturday. The festival will run from 10am to 2am on November 27, 29 and 30.
