MORE than 80 aspiring young football stars will attend the first training session tomorrow at the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) grounds in Riffa to learn how to 'play the Arsenal way'.
The Arsenal Soccer School-Bahrain is finally opening its doors for boys and girls, aged between five to 18 years, to take part in a 12-week course which runs until March 26.
The training academy, which will conduct the course at the BFA pitch adjacent to the school, is a venture between International Business Group (IBG) and Arsenal Soccer Schools.
The academy is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa and it is based at the Shaikh Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Director of the school, Grant Myburgh, said: "At the moment we have about 80 youngsters starting the course but probably 150 by the end of the week.
"Our phones have been off the hook as parents have been registering their children non-stop.
"We are very excited about opening the school in Bahrain and we are looking forward to watching the young players of the kingdom develop their skills and gain football prowess from our diligent coaches."
Neil Harvey, director of coaching, will be guiding each group through principles of team play to tactical awareness in match situations.
The academy will also be the second in the region to offer goalkeeper coaching as a specialist area.
Each term will cost between BD135.500 to BD183.500, depending on the age of the player, for a 12-week course.
There is still time to register by logging-on to www.arsenalschoolbahrian.com or call 17561615.
