Wednesday (March 24) The Al Riwaq Art Space is hosting an exhibition until April 5 titled 'As the land expands, the world gets closer'. Thursday (March 25)

La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art, Manama, will present the work of Turkish-born artist Canan Tolon in her first solo exhibition in Bahrain. It will feature her latest work 'Fugues' which is a series of digitally manipulated pigment prints.

The evening will also feature Greek soprano Danae Eleni. A donation will be made to the Children and Mothers Welfare Society, organisers say. The exhibition opens at 6pm and concert begins at 8pm. Tickets are BD20 for exhibition and concert and BD30 for dinner also. For details, contact 17230123.

Friday (March 26)

Alliance Franaise's 'The French Touch', an amateur French Theatre Company, will present Robert Thomas' comedy thriller "8Femmes" (8 Women) at its premises in Isa Town today and tomorrow. Tickets are priced at BD6 and will be available at Alosra supermarket and on site at the Alliance Franaise. The profits will benefit a Bahraini Charity, supporting women suffering domestic violence - The Aisha Yateem Counseling Centre for Women. Rap artists Batch 2010 will perform at the Palace Hotel's Falcon Hall. They will be joined by Bahrain-based hip hop dance troupes including Bad Dream Crew, EYP Performers and Wikitikz alongside the AMATAZ band. Doors open at 7.30pm and show starts at 8pm. Saturday (March 27)

The Royal Society of St. George will stage the '2010 Easter Picnic in the Park' funday out at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Saar. Participants can enjoy with barbecue and refreshments with entertainment hosted by MC Krazy Kevin including the Police Marching Band, Dixielanders Band, disco, Easter Bonnet competition, tombola and games, raffle and prizes, magic show, bouncy castle, face painting, henna tattoos, candy floss, sweets and treats, balloon twister, dancing and Easter egg hunt. Drama 'Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell' ends today at the British Club in Umm Al Hassam.
