Football legend Sir Bobby Charlton is backing his country to win the World Cup and end 44 years of hurt for England fans across the world.
The former Manchester United star who won a World Cup winner's medal in 1966 was in the kingdom last week to witness telecom newcomer VIVA Bahrain and his beloved club signing a partnership agreement.
The ceremony, which took place at the Royal Golf Club in Riffa, was attended by a number of senior officials from both sides and a large contingent of media.
Asking a question fielded by GulfWeekly, Sir Bobby said: "I genuinely think England can do it this time.
"In the past I have let my heart rule my head and backed England but I have a feeling deep down that things are different this time.
"If Coach Fabio Capello can get the players believing in themselves, playing for one another - which I believe he can - and the team has that little bit of luck that every side needs in a cup competition, the players will go all the way.
"It's also better for us not to be one of the favourites this time around. I think that fact will help motivate the players - they will relish the challenge of proving people wrong."
Sir Bobby also played a few holes on the Colin Montgomerie-designed course and admitted he found the going tough in the sunshine and thought that Europe's 2010 Ryder Cup captain hadn't made it 'with old men in mind'.
Needless to say, United Commercial Director Richard Arnold was quick to quip that the sprightly 73-year-old living legend still managed to win their friendly course contest.
Alongside the signing, professional coaches from the club ran a football skills mini-workshop for 33 selected telecom subscribers.
Through VIVA, Manchester United fans will be able to stay in touch through a constant feed of the club's latest news and mobile content such as wallpapers, ringtones, picture messages, video highlights and have the chance to secure memorabilia signed by the players.
Subscribers will also be given the opportunity to win tickets to the theatre of dreams - Old Trafford.

Ironically, as Sir Bobby set off from Bahrain to take in the World Cup action live in South Africa, England captain and United defender Rio Ferdinand was hobbling home in crutches after injuring his left knee in training.
