The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), in association with the Bahrain Badminton & Squash Federation (BBSF), will be conducting the Bahrain International Challenge 2010 Badminton tournament at the BKS Diamond Jubilee Hall from November 30 to December 4.
This world ranking tournament is sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation and Badminton Asia Confederation and carries a total prize money of $15,000.
Though this is the fourth consecutive year that the kingdom will be conducting an international badminton tournament, this is the first time that BKS will be hosting this event and more than 150 players from all over the world are expected to participate.
The organising committee includes Farook PM as tournament director and BKS indoor games secretary Ashley George as general convener.
The inauguration of the tournament committee's activities was held last week at the Samajam premises with the unveiling of the logo for the event and launching of the sponsorship appeal form.
The logo was unveiled by Batelco marketing segment manager Ali Al Attar and BBSF representative Jaffer Ebrahim in the presence of BKS acting president K Saju Kumar, general secretary NK Veeramany and Mr George.
